Students appreciate the new vending machine and would like to add even more options to encourage people to use it more. Some students use the machine all the time, some barely notice it and others have strong opinions about what should be there.
People’s answers varied on how often they use the machine, what snacks they like and whether they care more about health or convenience. This shows that the vending machine is not just about food but also how students’ routines are and what they need in between classes. Overall, most students agree that the vending machine is useful, but it definitely isn’t perfect and could be improved.
Seniors Wil Twombly and Mikey Covelluzzi rely on the vending machine a lot. Wil says “It’s mainly for saving time and getting something fast during a break. So like days with no breaks, it’s helpful.” He uses it sometimes and suggested adding a larger container of chocolate milk because he values energy between classes. Wil says he uses it sometimes when he needs something quickly. This suggests that for students like him, the vending machine is mainly about saving time and getting something fast during a busy no breaks day. Mikey also thinks the vending machine works well and even suggested adding another in places like the theater or rink. This shows that location matters just as much as what is inside the machine. Both of them see the vending machines as something that helps them get through the school day, and they also support keeping some healthier options available.
The suggestions varied with healthy but also fun options, which are quick but still seen as a healthier option. Nate Daly doesn’t use it much but thinks yogurt cups are a good idea and supports adding another machine by the gym. Nate says “ I’m usually more focused on health and fitness, so I don’t really use it as much, but if there were healthier options, I would.” Matt Tersolo likes it because it’s convenient. He suggests adding popcorn and would like a second machine in the library, showing that students want snacks in places where they spent a lot of time studying. Tynan Moses rarely uses the machine but suggested more fruit options like mixed fruit cups and believes healthy snacks would be popular.
Mateus Feick, Jasper Johnson, Drew Mullaney and Jack Najarian added even more variety. Mateus suggested both chocolate milk and trail mix. Jasper, who doesn’t use the machine often, supports fruit and nut options. Drew said he would like granola bars, even though he doesn’t really go to the vending machine.
Students really appreciate the vending machine, and they would like to help add some more options that others may like. Feedback shows that while many really appreciate the machine itself, they might like to see different options inside. A lot of students want snacks that are quick and healthy, and they also would love to see a few more machines in different locations. These changes could make the vending machine a better part of the school day.
