After interviewing multiple students about their Pingree experience, I discovered that most students find Pingree to be a very special place, and they feel very lucky to be a part of this community.

A common theme among many students is their connection to the community. According to senior Tynan Moses, his favorite part of Pingree is the community. “When it comes to making friends, it doesn’t matter regarding your age; you can build deep connections with anyone.” 

Similarly, senior Mike Covelluzzi truly thinks that “some of the most interesting, loyal, and fantastic people” have come into his life from Pingree. He thinks the unwavering support and kindness of the entire Pingree community are amazing. Junior Bruce Danaher also loves “how loving and accepting the community is. Spending time with everyone during school, after school, at sporting events, practice, whatever it is – it’s always a good time.” The number of bonding opportunities is truly what makes everyone so close at Pingree, and building these connections seems to come so easily, from how loving and inviting everyone is. 

Mikey Covelluzzi describes how the highlight of his Pingree experience was winning the Holt Conference Championship with the Pingree Boys Varsity Hockey Team during his sophomore year. It really helped Mikey bond with a lot of his teammates and other peers in the school. Winning a championship is extremely special for anyone because you never know if or when it is going to happen again. 

Junior Cooper Lenci appreciates “all of the opportunities that are open to us…arts, performing, and then athletics, and being pushed academically.” Pingree is a very well-rounded environment, offering opportunities that any student can enjoy. Like many other students interviewed, Cooper appreciates how much Pingree can offer in order for him to thrive during – and after – his Pingree experience.  

In the end, what makes Pingree truly special is the strong sense of community and meaningful connections that all students build together every day. With so many opportunities inside and outside of the classroom, students grow academically, socially, and athletically. These shared experiences create an environment where students feel at home.
